Three cheers for laminate. I don't know how I lived without you.

As you may notice in my listings, I now mention that my pictures come coated with a special artist laminate to protect them against wear and tear and moisture and a bit of rough and tumble etc.

Now, a month or so on, I'm in love. Many's the time I've run out of plates and have confidently served dinner on one of my canvases instead. Oh how we laugh, as we eat our pasta and enjoy some art at the same time. This way, the viewer is more engaged with the art as their meatballs and sauce interact with the…

Of course, I'm joking…

But I am pleased with the lamination. It makes such a difference to their durability and it somehow brings the colours to life.

I take great care of my work, and I'm sure so do all my customers. One of the main dreads I have is of all those people who may not. The decorators, the removal guys, next door's kids. Now I can live safe in the knowledge that, barring fire, my pictures should have no trouble in outliving me.
